Are you 16-17 years old and passionate about making a change in teenage mental health?

We are currently recruiting young people to help us shape BrainWaves – so our project is for and by young people.

Join our Young People’s Advisory Group!

  •  Help to shape BrainWaves’ innovative new educational research project
  •  Play a part in supporting other young people

We are on a mission, to discover more about the adolescent brain and we need teenagers to be a vital voice as we shape our research. It’s a chance to co-produce key components of our study.

The team at the University of Oxford wants 16 and 17 year-olds representing the UK’s diverse communities to join a young people’s advisory group (YPAG). It’s for at least 9 months, starting in July 2023.

The research is going to help schools and education professionals to be equipped with the right tools and insights to teach and manage good mental health in schools. Taking part means you will help in the design of the project. That really matters because we want critical voices who can make sure our plan is appealing and engaging. In other words: what young people like you want and need.

As a YPAG member, your own experiences matter, whatever they may be.

So, if you think it’s a challenge you’d like to take up, get in touch with us! We really want to encourage applications from young men and teenagers of colour, the global majority, because your voices are underrepresented in mental health spaces and research.

If you are invited to join the group, you’ll be paid £15/hour for the time and work you do for BrainWaves.
