We are thrilled to congratulate our partner, The Day, for winning the best “Wellbeing & Safeguarding Resources” at The Bett Awards 2025.
This recognition highlights the impactful work being done through our collaboration between the University of Oxford and The Day. BrainWaves is dedicated to empowering students with the essential tools they need to advocate for themselves as they navigate their wellbeing and the complexities of current affairs.
Through our freely available lessons we are providing evidence based resources to support mental wellbeing education. Schools can also join our BrainWaves Research Partner network, gaining crucial insights into the mental health of their students and contributing to important research. The Day actively promotes these opportunities to schools and encourages schools to engage in this vital work. Importantly, all data collected by both BrainWaves and The Day is GDPR compliant, ensuring the highest standards of privacy and security.

Julian Turner, Managing Director of The Day and Director of Education at BrainWaves said, “It’s great to have the hard work of the team and our partners recognised with this wonderful award. There is nothing more important in education right now than giving young people a sense of agency in their wellbeing, safety and learning and that’s what The Day and our BrainWaves resources try to do. Particular thanks go to our network of schools, our partners at the University of Oxford and our BrainWaves Research Schools for their expertise and commitment.”
Richard Addis, Founder and Editor of The Day, echoed these sentiments, stating, “I am absolutely thrilled by this award and to accept it on behalf of our fantastic team at The Day, our member schools from whom we learn so much and our brilliant colleagues on BrainWaves at the University of Oxford.”
The judges praised The Day for its innovative approach, noting that it not only shares positive news in a challenging world but also provides significant support to young people grappling with misinformation and fake news.
A big thank you goes out to the judges at the awards and to the incredible team at The Day for their dedication and commitment to making a difference in education and mental health. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our young people!
