How BrainWaves Is Helping You
Wellbeing, built around you
BrainWaves is all about helping young people like you to live well.
Student voices lead the way
Students who participate in BrainWaves have a real say about wellbeing education and adolescent mental health. You don’t just show up to lessons, you help shape what we teach, what we research, and the resources schools use.
By being part of BrainWaves, you gain practical tools to look after your wellbeing, build confidence in your voice, and can feel more in control of your mental health. This is wellbeing support created with students, not decided for them.
At BrainWaves, students are involved at every step. Your ideas, feedback, and experiences help decide:
- Which wellbeing topics we focus on
- What lessons and activities are created
- What questions we ask in our research
Through student feedback and our Young People’s Advisory Group, students help shape everything we do. Your experiences aren’t just opinions; they’re what guide the work!
Learn skills you can use in real life
BrainWaves lessons are shaped by what students tell us they need, focusing on the areas of life where they want the most support.
By taking part in a BrainWaves lesson, you’ll learn:
- Ways to manage stress, pressure, and emotions
- How to understand your own wellbeing better
- Skills to feel more confident and in control
The aim is to help you feel more capable, informed, and confident in handling challenges both in and beyond school, so that you and your peers can continue to thrive long after your time in education.
Plus, when your school takes part in BrainWaves, your contribution extends beyond the classroom! By sharing your experiences and feedback, you help create positive change for other students too. Your voice helps to:
- Improve wellbeing support in your school
- Shape how teachers and schools support students
- Develop better wellbeing resources for young people in the future
