Data Strategy Manager

Simon Young is Senior Project Manager at BrainWaves. His work focuses on the delivery of
projects across multiple locations and multiple disciplines, with particular expertise in data
management and analysis.

He has over 20 years of experience in programme management and has worked in
academia and the health, chemicals, credit, and insurance industries, including main board
positions. He has also run his own consultancy business for over 20 years.

Simon has led projects performing influential research into the understanding of dementia,
including an award-winning project designed to improve the service delivery of dementia
diagnosis within the NHS. His work in industry has included the development of new
techniques to assess the value of credit portfolios and new methods to understand the
impact of pesticide build-up on land.

Contribution to BrainWaves
In his role with BrainWaves, Simon Young contributes to the management and development
of the Cohort studies and analyses, as well as the dissemination of the findings of these
analyses. This work supports the organisation’s aim to improve the understanding of brain
health across the life course and promote methods for young people to understand better
their wellbeing and mental health.
