At BrainWaves, we are incredibly fortunate to be supported by people who believe in our mission to help transform how schools, researchers, and young people access the tools to improve adolescent mental wellbeing.
That’s why we’re pleased to share that Will, a teacher at one of our Research Partner schools, has chosen BrainWaves as his charity of choice for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on 11 October.
Having seen the impact of our work first-hand in the classroom, Will is taking on the challenge to raise funds that will help us reach even more young people through our wellbeing programmes.
“Every day, we see stories about the challenges young people are facing with their wellbeing and the need to do more to support them. BrainWaves is taking action by giving schools practical, research-backed tools to help young people build positive wellbeing habits.
Like many people, I’ve had my own struggles with mental health over the years, and I know how valuable the right support can be. As a teacher in one of their partner schools, I’ve seen firsthand the difference it can make when students are given the knowledge and confidence to take an active role in their own wellbeing. It’s the kind of support I wish had been around when I was a teenager, so I’m proud to be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to help raise funds for such an important cause.”
Why This Means So Much
When someone chooses to fundraise for BrainWaves, it shows us that the conversations, tools, and support we provide are making a genuine difference in the lives of young people.
We are honoured that Will has decided to champion our cause and dedicate his training, time, and effort to supporting BrainWaves. Every mile he runs will help raise awareness of the importance of young people’s wellbeing and the need to ensure every young person has access to the tools they need to thrive.
We want to wish Will the very best of luck with his training and the half-marathon itself. We’ll be cheering him on every step of the way and are hugely grateful for everything he is doing to support BrainWaves!
Support Will’s Fundraising
If you would like to support Will’s challenge, please consider making a donation to his fundraising campaign. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us expand our reach and bring our programmes to more schools and more young people.
Make BrainWaves Your Charity of Choice
Will’s fundraising effort is also a wonderful reminder that there are many ways to support BrainWaves beyond making a donation! Whether you’re taking part in a run, organising a community event, celebrating a milestone, or looking for a charity partner through your workplace, you can choose BrainWaves as your charity of choice and help make a lasting difference to young people’s lives.
By fundraising for BrainWaves, you’ll be helping us deliver wellbeing programmes in schools and reach more young people with practical tools and strategies to manage their wellbeing
If you’re interested in fundraising for BrainWaves, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can help ensure more young people have the support they need to flourish.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work, and a special thank you to Will for choosing BrainWaves. Your commitment and generosity mean the world to us.
Good luck, Will. We’re all behind you!
